Greetings, Everyone!
Once again, the “Jägertanz” was a hit. The food was excellent, and the turnout was good as well. We even had guests from the United States! The Tombola prizes were impressive as usual, and the tombola drum was filled with tickets, probably a result of tickets sold by “the armlength for $5.00”.
The information for the “Spring Show” is now on the door of the Hubertuskeller. Tickets are available every Friday starting January 27th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Hubertuskeller or from Ursula Hoffmann at 905-664-4916. Reserve early for good seat selection. The date for the show is Thursday, March 22nd, and tickets are $25.00 per person, with a Schnitzel Dinner available for $12.50. Dinner will be served from 5:00 to 7:00, and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.
Again, we are looking for accommodations for the performers for one night. If you can provide accommodation for one or two people including a breakfast and transportation to and from the club, please contact Arno Risse at 905-528-5245 or email at arisse@cogeco.ca to advise.
Also, Ursula Hoffmann suggests that you order your Valentine’s Dance tickets promptly, as the Dance is filling up fast. You can reach her at 905-664-4916. Why not reserve seats for both occasions with one phone call? I remember the “Europa” band always kept us on our toes at previous dances, and your Valentine will appreciate a night out.
We have an Election Committee in place to deal with details for the upcoming election on April 15th. The committee is headed by Jennifer Stipsits, assisted by Katie Spitzbart and Edna Reisch. The list of the available positions, as well as the contact information for the Election Committee, is posted on the Hubertuskeller door. Please contact any of the committee members if you are interested in taking on a position, or need more information on what is involved to become an Executive Committee member.
Please mark the date for the General Meeting on your calendar, so you will be sure to attend. It is imperative that all members cast their votes in order to elect an Executive Committee that represents the choice of the majority of the club members. You will also receive information on what has happened over the past year as well as how our club will move forward.

The Ladies’ Auxiliary meets again on February 24th at 6:30 p.m.
The Hunters and Fishers meet on the first Friday of each month in the Hubertuskeller. The next meeting is February 3rd.
Our Movies are more popular than ever. The next one will take place on February 12th at 2:00 p.m. with coffee and cake available as always. The feature presentation is “The 35th Circus Festival International 2011 ” from Monte Carlo with Prince Albert & Charlene. There will also be a second feature of unforgettable music, “Musik liegt in der Luft”. More details can be had from our movie director, John Cekr, at 905-385-1394. We are indeed fortunate to have someone like John to brighten up our Sundays with old movies as well as the latest shows from Germany and Austria. Thank You, John!
We are pleased to announce new members again. Please welcome Sharon & Ross Culp to our club. We wish them much enjoyment at our functions.
In the last Newsletter there wasn’t room for Birthday wishes, so we wish everyone whose Birthday fell in January a Happy Belated Birthday, and also a Happy Birthday for all those lucky souls born in February. May you have many more!
